AJ is an eco apprentice at Literacy for Environmental Justice. She is also a Family Engagement Coordinator via Mission Graduates. These two positions allow her to advocate for black families in the school district and advocate for equitable outdoor spaces for youth and families of color. As a child she spent the majority of her time outdoors and camping with family. Opting outside allows AJ to build on her symbiotic relationship with nature as well as find ways for youth to explore theirs. In her freetime AJ enjoys reading, dancing, and drawing on her ipad. She’s currently finishing up her master’s degree in Equity and Social Justice at San Francisco University.
